In general terms, credit lines are financing solutions with advantageous conditions for companies, which assume the fulfilment of certain conditions prior to being taken out, related, for example, to the company's business sector or the purpose of the financing.
They are the result of agreements previously established between banks and other national or European public or private entities, which define the conditions and customer segments for which they are intended.
These lines can be broken down into sub-lines, taking into account the type of financing, which may, for example, vary between treasury financing, investment financing, or in sectoral terms.
Among the banks’ main partners in providing these lines are the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Investment Fund (EIF), Banco Português de Fomento (BPF), Turismo de Portugal, the Instituto de Financiamento da Agrícola e Produtos (IFAP), among others.
