As part of its Financial Education project, the Portuguese Banking Association (APB) promotes the Digital Literacy Program"Everything you need to know about online banking" – essentially aimed at seniors who are not yet familiar with using digital banking.
This is a digital training program which aims to provide the target audience with a set of basic concepts that allow them to perform some of the essential day-to-day banking operations through online channels, such as making transfers, payments, learning how to check their bank account via computer or mobile phone, being alert and knowing how to protect themselves from possible fraud attempts, etc.
Information sessions are free of charge and open to the general public, and are held by representatives of the APB's member banks. With this initiative, the APB and its member banks aim to promote a set of basic digital skills from a user perspective, contribute to empowering the target audience to use digital channels, raise awareness of the importance of adopting more informed and safer financial behaviours and contribute to increasing digital and financial literacy levels in Portugal.
The APB puts on this initiative directly with Parish Councils, Private Social Solidarity Institutions and Universities for Seniors across the country, and also with the Lisbon Municipal Library network.
To watch "Everything you need to know about online banking", interested organisations or participants must register in advance or send an email to educacaofinanceira@apb.pt.
