The Portuguese Banking Association (APB) marked World Investor Week by hosting a Banking Open Day, featuring two financial literacy initiatives for young people: a session on online security and a visit to the “AI Innovation Garden” exhibition in Lisbon.
The first initiative involved around 50 10th-grade economics students from the Sampaio School Cluster in Sesimbra, who attended an online security session conducted by an APB collaborator on October 8th.
The second initiative brought together 100 students from Externato Liceal das Casas de São Vicente de Paulo and Externato Marista de Lisboa, who participated in guided tours of the “AI Innovation Garden” exhibition on October 8th and 9th at the BPI All in One space in Praça do Saldanha, Lisbon. This immersive exhibition showcased the potential of artificial intelligence in everyday applications in a simple and accessible way.
World Investor Week, held from October 7th to 11th, is an international initiative promoted by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and coordinated in Portugal by the Securities Market Commission (CMVM). Its main goal is to promote financial literacy among non-professional investors.
This was the 8th edition of the international initiative. The APB has participated in every edition, annually involving 150 to 200 students in its activities.
