26th November, 2010

The INFOVALOR Forum is being held at Sala Tejo, Pavilhão Atlântico in Lisbon on 26 and 27 November 2010.

The forum is intended to promote saving and financial education through direct contact with market agents. The aim is to improve knowledge and access to financial information and familiarity with the financial markets, the institutions that operate there and savings investment options (www.infovalor.pt).

The event enjoys the High Patronage of the President of Portugal. The Committee of Honour is chaired by Manuel Alves Monteiro and also includes the Economists Association, the Certified Auditors Association (OROC), Euronext Lisbon, Associação Portuguesa de Bancos (Portuguese Bank Association - APB), the Portuguese Insurers Association (APS), the Portuguese Association of Investment, Pension and Portfolio Funds (APFIPP), the Portuguese Association of Stockbrokers (APC), the Portuguese Association of Financial Analysts (APAF) and the Investor Relations Forum (FIR).

The APB's goals are to improve financial culture by fostering better information and education on banking and financial activity and better use of financial products and services leading to a more transparent relationship between banks and society. We therefore consider it important to sponsor and attend this forum, since this draws people's attention to the importance of these issues and encourages them to save.

As a member of the Infovalor Committee of Honour, APB informed its members of the forum and drew their attention to the importance of an initiative that promotes more and better information and education on the financial sector, invites people to visit the event and encourages them to learn more about these matters proactively.

APB, along with Instituto de Formação Bancária (the Portuguese Bank Training Institute - IFB), will be attending the event with its own space and will also participate in conferences and workshops there.
